Volcano

Unfortunately, we did set up camp in the middle of the night. We drove until we found some BLM land and set up camp out of sight of the road. We made dinner and went to bed. Blogging is exhausting! In the morning, I made pancakes. P.S. to all: you can pancakes for two with two bananas and four eggs. It's super easy and super tasty. Yum! Afterwards, we packed up the Jeep and headed towards Crater of the Moon. When we pulled into the parking lot, Chris noticed a POOL of oil under the Jeep. It makes us mad to even think about it! Dumb mechanic. The problem was not solved at all, only made worse. We decided to worry about it on Monday. So we made the best of the weekend and hiked and explored Craters of the Moon. We went caving in several lava tubes, one even had ice in it!
There were some tight squeezes, but some of the caves had 30 foot ceilings and were 800 feet long!

We hiked to the top of one of the cinder cones and found that the pumice were so light and had so many holes in it that you could throw it up into the wind and it would blow it five feet away! After we explored that and some other park trails we hiked into the back country to camp in a dormant volcanic crater. We spent the night and woke up and hiked back to the leaky Jeep, added a quart of oil and drove into the mountains to camp at Ketchum.
